Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey serves in Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the rank and status of Ambassador and Senior Secretary. He brings extensive experience spanning diplomacy, international affairs, journalism, media, and public policy.

A former Washington, D.C.-based journalist, Ansarey gained international recognition for his incisive questions during UN and U.S. State Department briefings and his contributions to global media. He served as the Executive Editor of South Asia Perspectives (SAP), a Washington, D.C.-based foreign policy magazine. He was previously an editor and White House correspondent for Just News BD, covering the UN, U.S. State Department, and Pentagon.

As former Executive Director of Right to Freedom (R2F), a nonprofit dedicated to human rights and press freedom, Ansarey championed free expression on the global stage. He was also a fellow at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and contributed to The Wire. Additionally, he served as a guest host at the Wilson Center and worked for The Times and The Sunday Times in the UK as a work-experience reporter for the foreign desk. He also served as a consultant for the World Bank Group.
